Solutions AEC has an opening for a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Phoenix. Lead Mechanical Engineers at Solutions AEC are able to lead the mechanical and plumbing engineering department and project processes from bidding, schematic design, design completion and overseeing construction support thru project completion. We are looking for a Lead Mechanical Engineer who in addition to the responsibilities and qualifications noted below has a strong work ethic, a passion for engineering and continuous improvement, is a good client steward and who believes in and embraces servant leadership.   

Responsibilities Include:  

• Conducts regular department meetings providing a forum to facilitate communication, coordination, education, clarification of direction, and overall department morale
• Responsible for overseeing the creation and implementation of discipline-specific process workflows that ensure continuous improvement
• Serve as lead (primary responsible) Engineer on projects as assigned
• Analyze, design and present technical information
• Assist in preparing estimates and developing proposals
• Maintain and build strong client relationships
• Attracts, develops, and retains a high performing team to meet the current and evolving needs through effective selection, training and development, mentoring, employee empowerment, and performance management
• Periodic site visits as provided for by job contracts  
• Periodic travel to meet with clients and observe existing facilities  

Qualifications:  

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering  
• Minimum 10 years of mechanical engineering experience with a P.E. licensure 
• Proficient in REVIT, AutoCAD and Trane Trace load calculation software  
• Experience manging a team/department
• Ability to work with minimal supervision on design projects while taking ownership of work and able to work  as a team with rest of mechanical group on projects.  
• Excellent problem-solving skills, oral and written communication skills, time management and organizational skills are required
