Truth Be Told

Truth be told, Solutions is not the kind of place you would want to work.
Solutions isn’t the kind of place I want to work either.
Solutions is the kind of place I want to live (and I think you would feel the same in my shoes).
That is what we are doing isn’t it? At the end of the day, the location of our job is where we spend the majority of our waking hours. It is where we end up ‘living’ most of our days. It would have been more accurate to say that Solutions isn’t the kind of place I would want to just work but wording it the other way grabs your attention better.
Anyways, I’m lucky enough to say that I really enjoy living where I do and having the neighbors (co-workers) that I do. Here at Solutions, we definitely do more than work. We come up with fresh new ideas, some of which totally take off and are a smashing success, others which frankly fall flat on their faces. The point is, we are encouraged to bring forth our ideas, no matter how small or where the concept is coming from, and we are supported each step of the way in doing so. The culture here is not the sort of place you just come in for the daily grind or business as usual.
That is why I don’t view what I do at Solutions as work. Working here is really a chance to grow, to change, and to become the person you didn’t even know you were supposed to be. I’m not blind, I know that all of us working here are regular folks with our own problems and our own viewpoints and of course that from time to time leads to disagreement, but therein lies the beauty of this place. The disagreements, the discussions, the initiatives; they all take place in an environment made to foster such things. This lack of shackled thinking has become increasingly clear as we carry on with our efforts to stay ahead of the curve in an always expanding and technologically advancing industry. For this, I’m proud to know these people and proud of the parts we are playing in that undertaking.
Last of all, we have fun. We are not meant to be cramped into cubicles hammering away at a keyboard for 8 hours a day and here we are encouraged to stretch, not only our minds but our legs. We have pulse meetings, project kickoffs, dedicated brainstorming/collaborating in the bunker and meetings in the focus room. We bond as teammates and enjoy food together and company sponsored events like winery trips and cookout competitions and the lives of each employee are celebrated.
At the end of the day, I’m very thankful to live (and get work done) here at Solutions.
